I don't know if this is a bug exactly, but between ONNX opset 10 and 11, there was a change to Pad ops making the pads an input to the node instead of an attribute. However, onnx-simplifier does do a good job of simplifying the model back into a single Pad node. The complex models generated by torch. Just to clarify and confirm - is there something wrong you see with the export, or is it that the model export is correct but this is a question of multiple nodes being inserted in opset 11?
Hi spandantiwari. Thanks for reporting this. The difference between opset 10 and 11 export is because the spec of this operator has been updated in ONNX opset 11, and some op attributes have become op inputs. This updated has enabled export of pad operator with dynamic input shape in opset You can export the model with pad op with an input tensor of certain shape and run it with another input of different shape. But I agree that the opset 11 model can be optimized further with constant folding.

I have some problem converting my pytorch model into onnx. My output is a tensor with shape: batchsize x height x width. The code converting model to onnx: Export the model torch. Can you try exporting the model on CPU only first?

It seems that there is no support for multiple inputs in case the forward method expect multiple tensors. Got the following error for my model as per docs : TypeError: forward missing 8 required positional argument as expected So in this case, the user is expected to modify the forward behavior to make adjustments. I also discussed it here. I also tried modifying the forward method to take one tuple as input and getting required tensors from it but got this: TypeError: forward takes 2 positional arguments but 10 were given.
There needs to be some flexible way to deal with dynamic inputs. Something similar to this has also been discussed here. Also: My model takes a list of two tensors, so I did the following which executed without any errors. Is this what you are looking for?
We actually ran this test too and saw that it works. It wasn't the case for the Pix2PixHD code. What turns out is that the concatenation of the two inputs was part of the preprocessing and not of the forward and so wasn't considered part of the model.
That caused the input layers to be detached when exported to ONNX. We consider this case solved.
